Fidelity is an honorable act, in friendship as in love.

The feeling of attachment is often strong towards the loved one.

But sometimes it can become excessive, suffocating, due to an extreme fear of abandonment.

Fear of Abandonment

The fear of abandonment most often stems from a traumatic event that occurred in the past life.

The trigger can be for example a very painful sentimental break-up, a deception, the divorce of his parents, the disagreement with the new spouse of the parent, a birth under x, the death of a loved one ...

Often, the phobic person has low self-esteem, convinced that she is partly responsible for the loss suffered.

Some people find it difficult to overcome this event and project the risk of being abandoned or even replaced on their new relationships, friends, professional or romantic.

This excessive behavior is not without consequences, because those around you can have the impression of suffocating and gradually detaching themselves from the person, which further aggravates the discomfort of the phobic of abandonment.
